Dear Members and Friends,

OCNI Golf Shootout Challenge to be held at Saugeen Golf Club Will be Postponed until 2024.

Due to circumstances surrounding the timing of the event and in the interest of ensuring the best possible experience for all participants, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the OCNI Golf Shootout Challenge originally scheduled to be held at Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin.

The event will now be rescheduled to take place in 2024. We thank all of our members for their interest in participation in this event. Tickets that have been purchased will be honoured for the rescheduled event.

Join the Nuclear community in the first-ever OCNI Golf Shootout Challenge to be held at Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin. This event will feature a 9-hole golf elimination challenge.

Due to the nature of this event, golf spaces will be limited. However, we are opening this event for spectator participation, allowing maximum networking and camaraderie. It will be a relaxed atmosphere, bringing our community together and offering a unique spin on a golf event.

Club Championship Shootout Details – How it works

There will be a men's and women's division.

Round 1 will see all 48 players sorted into 3 groups of 16 players each. These groups will start the tournament by playing 3 consecutive holes, concurrently. At each hole, players with the highest scores will be eliminated with only 8 players remaining at the end of the 3rd hole.

Second Hole - 3 players eliminated

Third Hole - 3 players eliminated

Round 2 will see the remaining 24 players reconvene on hole 4 and play holes 4 through 8 as a group. At each hole, further players will be eliminated based on the highest scores, until only 2 players remain. At hole 9, the Championship playoff will commence, with the final two players battling for the Shootout Challenge Title with the lowest score determining the winner.

Chip Offs will determine tie breaks. Should 2 or more golfers tie with the highest score, a chip-off will determine who continues on. All golfers involved in the tie will drop their balls at a designated spot off of the green and shoot for the hole. The furthest ball(s) from the hole are eliminated.

Please note that the structure of play and number of players eliminated per hole is at the discretion of the organizers and slight variations may occur. There will be divisions for both men and women, with the final play set up for the women’s division following a similar pattern to the above based on the final number of registrants.

2-Player Package: $300 + HST

Single Player: $175 + HST

Spectator: $99 + HST

Non-member Fees:

2-Player Package: $600 + HST

Single Player: $350 + HST

Spectator: $198 + HST
