OCNI's Advanced Technologies & Processes Council (ATP) presents the "Advanced Manufacturing Roadmap for the Canadian Nuclear Industry."

On December 8, 2021, at 10:00 am EST, join us as we discuss the details of this Roadmap, prepared by KSB, Kinectrics, and OCNI. The Advanced Manufacturing Roadmap offers a potential solution to address CANDU obsolescence challenges and reduce fabrication costs of SMR components.

OCNI and OCNI member company KSB bring important perspectives to this Roadmap. OCNI has a mandate to support and strengthen the Canadian nuclear supply chain by assisting member companies in enhancing their capabilities and implementing new technologies. KSB has become a world leader in implementing additive manufacturing methods in manufacturing pumps and valves and related replacement (obsolete) components for the power sector. This Roadmap was completed with input from Kinectrics and Burloak, who have entered into a partnership to design, manufacture and qualify additively manufactured parts for the nuclear facilities in Canada and worldwide. Kinectrics provides life cycle management services for the nuclear industry and the electricity transmission and distribution industry. Kinectrics has the capabilities to perform equipment qualification for reactors within Canada and internationally. Burloak is a Canadian company at the forefront of additive manufacturing, supplying components to the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries. Burloak's facilities include a variety of printing machines capable of printing over 20 different metals and polymers.
